Trick Or Treat, Dare To Sneak A Peek?

October 31, 2012

Details of what I am wearing to a rather big Halloween party tonight. Me and a friend are going as "Ice Queens" , so I am intending on replacing the black lipstick with someting a bit more icy.

I will show you the rest of my not that scary(more goth/grungy, not surprisingly) photos tomorrow, but for now:

Happy Halloween!

By the way, what are you dressing up as? I would love to know!!

Those Preppy, Sporty, Spoiled kids

October 29, 2012

 Sweater: second hand

Skirt: The Red Cross Store(Umeå City)

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

Belt: second hand

//

Sometimes photos really speak best for themselves and since I think these do I won't add that much.
Except for the fact that it's my wonderful mom who has shot them, and I think she's done a great job. But in all honesty, we kind of look like two preppy, sporty and spoiled kids here, don't we? You know, the kind of kids who take tennis lessons and come back from them with perfectly shiny hair and a natural but obviously all made-up skin. Not insinuating that I have perfectly shiny hair or natural but obviously all made-up skin here, although the part about the skin is somewhat true.

Oh and also, try to get this kid (meaning my dog) to behave for a minute when he's asked to be in photos with me, it's near impossible and that shows in the pictures: I had to trick him with sweeties but he eventually ended up rolling around on my rug, therefore I pinned him down (last photo) under my leg. No dog escapes from a girl in heels, right?

And the black thing that's peeking out under my skirt is the jumpsuit I was wearing originally and didn't bother taking off when putting on the skirt, so now I've made that clear.

Hope you are having a good and storm-free Monday,

XOXO

The Tennis Skirt

October 28, 2012

A detail from a series of  fun photos my mom shot of me yesterday, the rest will be up tomorrow.

This skirt reminds me a lot of the skirts you can find at American Apparel for $60 or something like that, the only difference is I found this at The Red Cross Store for $6. That's what you get for buying second hand, that and a better conscience.

I  am, by the way, getting more and more into this whole "sporty" trend which is very apparent if you look at fashion editorials, blogs and runways right now. I suppose it goes hand in hand with the constant love I have for the preppy style. Having said that, I am not a sporty personality, definitely not.

Umea Fashion Week Part II: The Red Cross Fashion Show

October 27, 2012

As you already know by now, I got the wonderful task of styling the Red Cross Fashion Show (along with Ebba and a few other talented people), during Umea Fashion Week.  There were two themes: a sporty and an earthy, so for the first look I went with a bright yellow tee, a white skirt with pockets, cute white socks and a blue suede jacket.

For the second one I wanted Linnea (my model and friend) to wear a floral printed, transparent dress and a suede bronze jacket.

What do you think?

I had so much fun styling this show and I am so looking forward to doing similar things. I just love styling and also styling people who aren't me, really so stimulating for my creativity.

A London Leftover

October 24, 2012

 Sweater: Topshop

Lace Skirt: Miss Selfridge (Petite collection)

Shoes: Topshop/Office, London

Sunglasses: GiantVintage.com

////

Browsing through my photo library I found these, a series of photos from before me and Cornelia left London almost two months ago now. Time moves fast, doesn't it?! Me and my friends talked about this at lunch today, how quickly time seems to pass.

Anyway, I miss London. And I miss the heat. And as for what I am wearing here, I think I went unintentionally for a grungy/preppy look, so no surprise there, since I always seem to go for something like that. But I adore this skirt, from Miss Selfridge : it's perfect and you can really wear it to almost anything.

A Semi-Sophisticated Senior

October 23, 2012

Skirt: Red Cross Story (Umeå City)

Top: Romwe.com

Necklace: Romwe.com

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

Bag: gift from sponsor

..

So this skirt + semi-transparent white top combo, is not really something I would wear on a day in school. And might not be my usual style, either.

But as you grow up and, like me, is in your senior year of high school, you also find yourself trying on new combinations and looks which, eventually, will suit a more adult, sophisticated (well, semi-sophisticated at least) you.

Because I do realize creepers, short skirts and peeking-out collars won't be suitable always. So this might be a good compromise, although I might have to find some edgy details to add it after some time.

A Peek Of Leather

October 21, 2012

Here's a peek of what I was wearing on Friday when me and Cornelia attended another fashion event.

I found this leather skirt at the Red Cross Store and I really love it, it's a great skirt for sophisticated and elegant days. But since it's leather you can always edge it up to make it more preppy/grungy or whatever for days when you aren't in the mood to be a classy lady, which frankly, is often for me.

Umea Fashion Week Part One

October 20, 2012

Photos by me, Edel Photo and Cornelia Helleday.

//

I think it's great that my city has a fashion week, despite being a fairly small city they still go all out each year to create a lovely fashion week.

Above is a taste of what I have been doing this week: styling The Red Cross Fashion show along with Ebba Zingmark, my friend and model Linnea being very patient with letting me try on combination after combination before finding the ideal looks for her.

And also, The Red Cross are going all out with their collaboration with bloggers and have thus installed a Bloggers' Rack in their City Store, where me (along with some other great bloggers) select our favourite items at the moment and they hang their with our tags on them. Awesome.

And me and Cornelia have been attending some really fun events, which I will show you more of later!

50 Shades Of Autumn

October 18, 2012

 Dress: ROMWE

Shoes: Underground/Selfridge's

..

The weather here is so rainy and cloudy at the moment. But some days are just so utterly beautiful, like today. When me and Cornelia decided to shoot some photos at a place where the ground is covered by 50 shades of autumn (pun intended).

And here is my Romwe galaxy printed dress with no sweater covering it this time. I decided to tie it up a bit with a belt though, in order to make it a bit more structured, since it basically just hangs otherwise.

On another note, Umea Fashion Week is going on this week and yesterday I attended as well as styled the Red Cross Fashion Show (along with a few other really talented people), it was incredibly fun!  There are photos which I will show you later.

Tonight I'm attending a release party for the really talented jewerly designer Johanna N  , so that's gonna be great!

The Perfect Coat

October 16, 2012

Burgundy Coat: Monki

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

Bag: ROMWE

..

In the autumn one of the main keys to a great style is a good coat. And I think I have find my perfect one.

It's burgundy (which is probably one of my favourite colors at the moment), it's kind of oversized and very cozy. And it has the most beautiful details. Like have you noticed the adorable collar? Preppy as I am, that collar was one of the things I first fell in love with when  I saw this coat.

What does your perfect coat look like?

xoxo

P.S: I do apologize for the inconsistent gaps between the photos, my blog is having some issues apparently.

The Red Cross Fashion Show

October 15, 2012

xoxo

Autumn Sunday

October 14, 2012

Sweater: Romwe

Skirt: Miss Selfridge

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell 'Busted'

//

You can't really see much of what I am wearing here, but it's a black lace skirt and a really cozy sweater. The sweater is old, the skirt is new (bought it a few weeks back in London).

My dog made a very special appearance here, as he sometimes is willing to do if I manage to convince him with treats, that is.

Other than that: I am having a relaxing but kind of busy Sunday. Need to do some homework, need to reply to some emails. Gonna head out for a run later.

XOXO

A Regal Sabrina

October 13, 2012

 Shirt(actually a jumpsuit) : Blitz, London

Skirt: Red Cross City Store, Umea

Necklace: ROMWE

Shoes: Topshop

This shoot got an accidental Sabrina The Teenage Witch-style when this cat suddenly wanted to be in the picture too, a beautiful cat may I add.

Thus, the title. And the editing. A regal Sabrina. Because this look is extremely conservative I realize, kind of a modern-twisted, slightly preppy Margaret Thatcher.

Well, I won't lie. The conservative/regal trend is something I really like dressing in, but you've gotta do it with an edge.

P.S I know a lot of you have been adoring my baroque dress from ROMWE, ..so I just thought I'd share a few discount codes with you, which you can use to buy that dress (or the necklace I'm wearing here) or something totally different to a better price.

Here you go:

  Code 2Oct25      Save $25 for $115+

Code 1Oct15      Save $15 for $80+

  Code 3Oct35      Save $35 for $155+

Romwe is also having a general sale to start off their AUTUMN SELECTION.
